Ruger is a young sensational Nigerian singer, who broke out in the music industry with the release of his single, “Bounce”. He is known for hits such as ‘Dior’, ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Warning’, ‘Useless’, ‘Asiwaju’ and more.

He came into limelight after signing a deal with Jonzing World Record on the 18th of January, 2020, a label under the Mavins record, by the record boss, D’Banj. He was signed with a publishing and distribution deal with Columbia Records, and Sony Music Entertainment, the U.K. division.

Ruger is a good musician and singer, who has been performing to the best of his ability since he was young. He is no doubt one of the best Nigerian artists today, having recorded a song and made it viral in less than two weeks after releasing.


Coming from a musical family, Michael a.k.a Ruger started singing at the tender age of eight, in the church choir. He started with music as a hobby however it now turned out to be his career.

His interest in music started when he was in secondary school and he led the school choir. He was also a member of the junior drum major corp of his school, which is one of his achievements in life.

Ruger received his primary and secondary education from reputable schools in Lagos State. He was trained in music through the churches and at his school.

According to reports, Ruger is currently an undergraduate at a prestigious University in Southwest, Nigeria. He has been a prodigy since a young age and he is no doubt one of the best Nigerian singers today.


Gifted with a unique voice, Ruger started his music career at a very tender age, and was a member of his school music band as a teenager and also a member of his church choir. He began composing songs and performing at shows and school functions. 

After he was discovered by D’Prince, he was named “Ruger” by D’Prince himself.  He was later introduced to the public by D’Prince, as Jonzing World signee, following the release of ‘One Shirt’, with Rema. He later released a self-titled single of his first EP project, titled PANDEMIC.

Following the success and response to ‘PANDEMIC’, on 19 November 2021, he released his second extended play titled The Second Wave, solely produced by Kukbeatz, which gave birth to songs like ‘Bounce’, ‘Ruger’, ‘Abu Dhabi’, ‘Bow’, ‘Monalisa’, and ‘Yekpa’.

Ruger’s hit single, ‘Bounce’ recorded an outstanding success as it went viral. Debuted at 39 on the Top 50 Chart and also reached the number 20 spot on the TurnTable End Of The Year chart.

He further released his 4-track sophomore EP titled The Second Wave, which also gave birth to songs like ‘Champion’, ‘Snapchat’, ‘Dior’, and ‘Useless’.

An incredible breakthrough recorded from his second EP gave him the boost to embark on ‘Rugged Tour,’ his first international tour. Ruger dropped his fourth EP in June, 2022 with ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Wewe’, and ‘Warning’.

The multi-talented singer had performed in cities like Houston, Dallas, and Las Vegas and had also sold-out show performance in Cyprus, Netherlands, and Australia.

Ruger is currently No. 1 on the chart with his latest hit single, ‘Asiwaju’. This hit single changed the direction of his life as he hit the social media to brag and announce his achievements.

Personal Life

Michael Adebayo a.k.a Ruger is reportedly dating a Nollywood thespian, Susan Pwajok, although the rumours had been flying for some time about their intimate relationship no one was sure until recently.

However, in a viral TikTok video, Ruger and Pwajok from the television series were seen all loved up with an emotional song playing in the background and speaking about a friendship that had blossomed into a love bond.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with skit maker and comedian Broda Shaggi, Ruger stated his relationship with Susan by saying, “Susan has always been my bestie, that’s all I can say”. He also wrote on his Instagram story after fans disagreed with his claims, saying; “Ok, @susanpwajok is my girlfriend. Y’all can get off her d**k now thank you.”
